Strength Training for Women Over 40 in Nashville
Your forties are not the decade to shrink. They're the decade to get strong on purpose. Muscle and bone respond to lifting at every age, and the women who start now are the ones carrying their own groceries, luggage, and grandkids at seventy. The program meets your body where it is today and builds from there.

What changes after 40, and what we do about it
Strength is the priority, not punishment cardio
Progressive lifting is the most valuable thing you can do for bone density, posture, and energy in this decade. That's the backbone of your program.
Recovery is programmed, not ignored
Sleep, stress, and hormones are training variables here. The plan respects them instead of pretending you're 22.
Never lifted? Ideal.
No bad habits to unlearn. We start with the basics, coached rep by rep, and most clients are amazed how fast their body responds.
Your doctor stays in the loop
If you have guidance from a provider (joints, blood pressure, anything), we work within it, always.

How it works
Four steps, and the first one is just a chat.
- Step 1
A twenty-minute chat
We talk about your week, your history, and what you actually want to be able to do. No sales script. If I'm not the right fit I'll say so.
- Step 2
An assessment, if we're a fit
We book an assessment: how you move today, what your body's ready for, and what we're aiming at. Your plan starts from here, not from a template.
- Step 3
Pick the commitment that fits
3, 6, or 12 months: the longer the commitment, the lower each hour costs. We settle it together after the assessment, no pressure.
- Step 4
We train, every single week
In person in Nashville or live over Zoom, coached on every rep. Bad sleep week? We adjust: drop volume, keep the weight. Progress doesn't need perfect weeks.
In their own words
I met Rachel in April 2019, at the age of 52. I am a longtime cyclist and had developed an injury called IT band syndrome which was causing a lot of hip and leg pain resulting in a limp when I walked. I had just gotten married and had my honeymoon planned for July. I wanted to make sure that I would be able to enjoy my trip and do physical activities while away. I started working with Rachel who made sure to take it slowly understanding my physical limitations at the time. We worked together to get my hip stronger and my leg started feeling better and better. I truly believe that her expertise, knowledge of the human anatomy and compassion enabled me to not only travel literally all over Ireland walking a lot but to also ENJOY an advanced, strenuous 5-mile clifftop hike along the coastline of Northern Ireland called the Giant's Causeway. Rachel has the ability to work with all different kinds of people at different levels with with very specific goals and needs.
Working with Rachel has exceeded my expectations! My 60th birthday is coming up and I wanted to go into this next phase of life feeling strong and confident. We’ve only been working together for a couple of months but I can already see a difference in my muscle tone and improvement in my posture. I actually wake up in the mornings looking forward to my workouts and the energy boost afterwards! I had never worked with a personal trainer before thinking they would be overbearing and militant. Rachel is far from that. She’s knowledgeable, motivating, available and challenges me enough that I want to see what else I can accomplish. To top it all off, she’s fun to work with and super personable. Highly recommend PixieFit!
I have been training with Rachel for four years after I had a hip replacement. Rachel is a great trainer - she is knowledgeable, dedicated, motivating and easy to talk to. She is very good at identifying areas for improvement and tailoring exercises that fit my needs and capabilities. Rachel has helped me be stronger and more fit as I look forward to a very active retirement. I highly recommend her!
Questions I get about this
I'm in my 50s or 60s. Is it too late to start lifting?
No. Muscle and bone respond to strength training at every age. The program starts from how your body moves today and builds from there, coached rep by rep.
I have back pain / an old injury. Is lifting safe for me?
Tell me about it on the call. Your program starts from how your body moves today, and every rep is coached, in person or on video, so you're never handed a workout and left to guess. If something doesn't feel right, we change it that day, not next month.
Do you work around joint replacements or old injuries?
Yes, within whatever guidance your doctor or physical therapist has given you. Tell me about it on the free call and the program is built around it from the first session.
Do I need a gym?
No. Virtual clients train at home with a couple of dumbbells, and it works beautifully. Tell me what you have and I'll build around it.
What does it cost?
It depends on how long we work together. There are 3, 6, and 12-month options, and the longer the commitment, the lower each hour costs. We'll go through exact rates on your free call. The call itself costs nothing, and there's no hard sell.
Start with a conversation, not a commitment.
You take care of everyone. This call is twenty minutes just for you. No pressure, no sales script. If I'm not the right coach for you, I'll tell you who is.
